About us
The ARC Research Hub for Molecular Biosensors at Point-of-Use (MOBIUS) is a multi-million-dollar research scheme funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC), and led by La Trobe University.

MOBIUS was awarded in 2024 and officially started in January 2025.
We are a university-industry collaboration designed to create and commercialise next-generation biosensor technologies that lead to new commercial opportunities in a rapidly growing global market.
What is MOBIUS?
Our goal is to bridge research and industry, from fundamental research through to commercialisation.
We provide an end-to-end development solution for sensor technologies: this positions us well to develop next-generation sensors that revolutionise key sectors, including healthcare, food and beverages, defence and biosecurity, agriculture, and environmental monitoring.
Beyond technology, we are building a talent pipeline—we are equipping the next generation of researchers and industry leaders with future-facing skills to drive Australia’s biosensing field forward.
