MOBIUS researchers and partners at Biosymposium

Join MOBIUS’ Distinguished Professor Madhu Bhaskaran (RMIT University), Dr Saimon M. Silva (La Trobe University) and Mark Muzzin (NEXSEN) at BioMelbourne Network’s ‘BioSymposium: Next-gen Biosensing: Breakthroughs in technology and translation’, on Wednesday 22 April 2026.

– Distinguished Professor Madhu Bhaskaran (RMIT STEM College) will present in the session ‘From concept to clinic – Translating sensor innovation’. Speakers will examine the translational journey, funding strategies for early-stage ventures, and lessons from local companies deploying next-gen sensors.

– Dr Saimon Moraes Silva (School of Agriculture, Biomedicine and Environment, La Trobe University) and Mark Muzzin (NEXSEN) will present in ‘Converging sectors: Health to AgBio & biosecurity – What changes in validation, IP, and adoption’. This session will offer valuable insight into how cross-sector innovation can unlock new research, collaboration and commercial opportunities. It will explore shared technology foundations, where sector needs converge, and how to identify and navigate IP with translational value across the wider life sciences ecosystem.
